Western Star Truck

Western Star is a name that has long stood for quality and strength. The trucks from this company have been proven for years and truck drivers throughout the country have appreciated the reliability of these truck manufacturers. This trucking company became popular in 1970 when White Trucks started the Western Star division as White Western Star. This name lasted until 1979. In 1980 White was sold to Volvo. Today the truck division is part of Freightliner LLC and is a sister division for Sterling trucks, all included in Daimler AG.

Today Western Star is based in Redford Township, Michigan and is a Class 8 commercial truck manufacturer. For those who are not truck drivers who are diligent or do not understand the classification system, Class 8 trucks are considered heavy trucks. The classification system in the United States is based on the Gross Vehicle Weight Ranking or GVWR. Classes run from 1 to 8 with classes 1 and 2 considered light assignments, grades 3 through 5 become intermediate assignments and grades 6 through 8 are considered heavy assignments. Class 8 trucks include commercial vehicles with GVWR above 33,000 pounds.

Over the years Western Star trucks have provided a variety of vehicles ranging from owner-operator tractors and trailers to heavy-duty trucks. Their very popular line-up includes a large line of heavy duty trucks for dumping, logging and hauling heavy loads. Many truck drivers across the country won't believe anything anymore. There are currently two different truck models in the company's lineup. This includes Series 6900 and Series 4900.

Series 6900 is considered an Extreme duty model while Series 4900 is more a lower load carrier. You can find more information about specific models by visiting the official dump truck hino website of Western Star trucks or by simply typing the name of the truck company into your browser's search area. Whether you are looking for a heavy duty truck or you just like the quality and reliability of the Western Star family, you are among thousands of drivers who will not trust anything to take them and their cargo wherever they go. With so many manufacturers of semi trucks and trailers, it seems surprising that one brand will be preferred over another. Usually, most truck drivers have their favorite truck brands, like most cowboys have favorite jeans brands.
